Frequently Asked Questions

Question:   What kind of paper clips are required?

Answer:     Most any kind of paper clip will work.  The standard paper clip will work well.  Please check the User Manual for the best placement of the paper clips.

Question:   Will the page turner work for musicians other than pianists?

Answer:     Yes, it will be placed on a music stand in that case.

Question:   How loud is the page turner when working?

Answer:     We think the page turner is relatively quiet thanks to microstepping technology.  However, we'll let you make your own assessment.  Below we have provided 3 audio samples of piano playing while the turner turns a page.

Question:   What size of sheet music will the turner work with?

Answer:     The turner will work naturally with sheet music that are 12" in height.  The vast majority of sheet music are 12".  For sheet music that are shorter, they can still work if they are elevated by placing a support underneath them.  Support pieces will be available as accessories.  For sheet music taller than 12", we're out of luck for now, though we're not aware of any such sheet music.

Question:   Will the turner work with printed 8.5" x 11" paper (standard letter paper)?

Answer:     Yes if the paper are bound, for example in a 3-ring binder or by stapling them together.  The pictures below shows it in a 3-ring binder, and separately as stapled.  The 3-ring binder is recommended.   Please also see the above Q&A on the support piece underneath.

Question:   Will the turner fit my piano?

Answer:     The short answer is yes.  The long answer is: the turner is the same size as typical sheet music.  And since nearly all pianos are designed to support sheet music, the turner will fit.  If you have any concern, feel free to send us a picture of your piano to service@automaticPageTurner.com and we'll let you know.  Also you can find the dimensions of the page turner in the Product & Demo page.

Question:   Are there more demo videos available?

Answer:     Yes, click video

Question:   How can I be assured that the page turner will work well?

Answer:     We have done extensive testing and optimization and are confident of its performance, which you may find described in the Product & Demo page, and in these demonstration videos.  Each unit is fully tested prior to shipping.  Furthermore, we will gladly accept returns for any reason within 30 days of delivery should you decide to do so.  Please see our Return Policy.

Question:   Is it possible to get the page turner in other colors?

Answer:     The body of the page turner is black only.  However, the color of the swing arm may be customized.  If you prefer a different color, please contact us by email at service@automaticPageTurner.com.

Question:   Is it possible to get the page turner with faster page turns?

Answer:     There are 2 selectable speed modes available.  The demonstration videos in the Product & Demo page are all with the slower of the 2 modes.  For a video demonstration of the fast mode, please click here.

Question:   Can the page turner work with sheets in 3-ring binders?

Answer:     Yes, with a support piece underneath the binder.  If this is your primary usage, please let us know (e.g. by email to service@automaticPageTurner.com) when you place the order.   We would like to get some information from you to make sure the page turner will work well with your binders.

Question:   Are there customer reviews or testimonials?

Answer:     We plan to have a review page in the future where customers can freely provide their reviews.  But for now, we are just providing selected responses below:

"I have indeed received the APT.  First feedback is great !  I saw that a lot of care went into the package, and the APT looks sturdier than I imagined.  We were a bit surprised with the sound the first time it turned a page (my girlfriend named it "r2 d2"), but when I play over it, we don't hear a thing.  Thanks for making and shipping this APT, it will be very useful to me." - Paul C., Toulouse, France, 2/24/23.

"I have had the page turner for several weeks, and it works beautifully for me." - Furio Z., Toronto, 1/13/21.

"The APT can be the best concept for reading and playing an instrument without ever having to stop to turn the page.  All musicians would benefit and be more effective at playing their instruments." - Joseph D., New Jersey, 4/14/21.
